I purchased 700 ft of 3/4 inch Gunstock Oak 2 1/4 inch wide. The order came and they were almost all 2-3 foot boards, tongues broken off, warped boards, crowning on almost all the boards.

Be careful of this company. They filled my order real slow, so they could have time to separate the good from the not so good and then gave me the worst of the bunch. I called them and they said I could bring back the whole order. But what good does that do me?

How about my time and me not getting quality material? In this case, I got what I paid for.

LOL they don't pick through orders and fill orders with shorts or culled pieces. I'm in the lumber industry and sometimes, bad loads happen.

I've worked with Lumber Liquidators a few times in the past on 2k+ ft2 jobs and they fixed any problem I encountered.

I've found that more often than not the people working at the stores will bend over backward to help you out and make issues correct. They use word of mouth referrals as their primary form of of advertising. They are a BILLION dollar company, like it or not, don't believe the negative spin.

They don't get that big by dealing bad product.

I would dispute the charges if you hopefully paid with a credit card for consumer fraud. Then I would contact the BBB in VA where LL is based,(they are trying to get my case to mediation) & file a complaint, & also file complaints with the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA), and the Va states attorney General for consumer fraud.

No one likes to be taken advantage of, or deceived, no matter what the cost. I also had a very bad experience with LL, you may read my complaint on this website, for the bogus 30 year warranty. I purchased over 1000 sq ft of their flooring, and am still fighting to recover my money. As the fight goes on, the boards have lipped up, warped, bowed.

And the installer has seen it, but is afraid to sign a statement because LL supplies him with a half million in installations. I am wishing you luck.

LL RESPONSE to Gunstock Oak Concern:

As you mentioned we offered to take back the material for your satisfaction. We do not sort through wood in the manner you suggested and if you received something you were not happy with we're happy to take it back and match you with a better product. If you purchase an odd lot item, we clearly explain why it's an odd lot and buying lower grade material is one way some people with some added labor cutting or refinishing obtain flooring they may not have otherwise been able to afford so it's a matter of choosing what works best for you and your project!

BUT shouldn't LLI be forced to disclose that they are selling 'seconds' and defectives? This order was supposed to be first quality from what is written

Rather what happens is a cycle of sales followed by horrific customer experience

Take action...don't let this continue
